I'm a big fan of routines! I love having routines in many different areas of my life. When we want to incorporate specific habits, we can do them better when they are part of a routine. Routines are part of intentional living and we should embrace them.

The problem with routines is they can become too important to us in our lives. As men, we need to take time to review our routines and make sure their usefulness hasn't worn out. Men who learn to change and adapt their routines will live their best design as men.

ROUTINES CAN IGNORE SEASONS

  • Seasons of life happen to everyone just like the seasons of the year
  • Life has seasons and we need to understand the current season we are in and what that means for us as men
  • "What season am I currently in right now?"
  • "Does this routine fit this season of life?"
  • "What new routines do I need to add"

ROUTINES CAN MAKE US LAZY

  • Routines are really good for getting things done and having a productive life
  • We can switch our brains off and let the routine guide us
  • Lack of Focus
  • Lack of Control
  • Stay focused on the motivation behind the routines

ROUTINES CAN DISCOURAGE REFLECTION

  • One of the big issues with routines is how they become so second nature that we don't think
  • Routines can cause us to get into an auto-pilot state of life
  • Here are a few things we should reflect on
  • Our Purpose
  • Our Direction
  • Our Relationships
  • Our Growth
