To live our ultimate adventure as men, we have to be aware of the overload danger. Too many of us will keep adding to our life to the point where we are overloaded. This hurts us, our relationships, and our purpose. Let's learn why we do this and what we can do to stop it.

The Gradual Creep

  • Nobody gets overloaded on purpose
  • We excuse it with justifications
  • Overload's effect on us
  • Overload and Relationships

The Garage Cleaning

  • Overload won't go away by itself
  • We begin overcoming overload by performing a garage cleaning
  • Look at everything before you start to plan what you will do about it
  • Then look at the available space available as we put things back into our lives
  • We must be intentional with our time, not reactionary
  • Cleaning out our schedule will greatly diminish the stress we feel in our lives

The Needed Questions

  • Avoiding the Overload is accomplished when we learn to ask ourselves regular questions
  • Remember that each of us is different so we can take these suggestions and questions and modify them to fit us and our unique situation
  • Questions give us the power of agency
  • What are my priorities?
  • How many roles are we currently in?
  • How much space are we building in our lives?
  • If I add more, what am I stopping?
