How Dads Should Love Their Kids

Dad love is a different kind of love

The reality of men and women being different is seen in how they interact with their children

OUR VOICE

  • As men, we must speak our love and affirmation to our children
  • It must come from a place of sincerity
  • Sincerity is us being ourselves, but showing them our love to them and believing in them
  • Our words of love and affirmation hold incredible power over our children
  • We may have to do extra work to learn how to do this, especially if it wasn't modeled to us

OUR ATTENTION

  • Our attention as men is what you do to show love
  • This is the most natural for many of us as men because we are doers
  • Pursue them and be a student of them
  • Serve them love ala carte
  • Give it to them in the way they receive it
  • Men are great at doing and we don't want to waste our energy
  • We want to focus it so our kids know how much we love them

OUR CHALLENGE

  • One of the main reasons kids need their dad with them in the home is to challenge them with love
  • You challenge with Discipline and Coaching
  • Discipline is love
  • You are lovingly challenging them to be better
