Next Level Relationship Building

Many men say the phrase, “I don’t understand women!” However, the reality is we don’t have to understand all women. We only have to understand one. Your wife or your girlfriend are the only women you need to focus on understanding. This helps take the pressure off of men because it helps them see that each woman is an individual and that is how we approach a relationship with them.

On today’s show, we focus on approaching the relationship that way. This will help us build a next-level relationship.

Focus

  • When we decide to focus on one woman, we begin to see how much better a relationship can be
  • Selfish relational goals = lonely, unattached people
  • For married men, it is ensuring you focus on your wife. The busy pace of life, work, and children don’t need to distract you.
  • As a single man, you are similarly getting to know a woman for who she is as a real person when dating
  • You want to seek to get to know the real them and not an image from your mind or them acting
  • You need to be interested in the person themselves, not just what they have to offer you.
  • This is why it is best to avoid sex before marriage
  • Sex is often used to hide or distract from deeper issues

Study

  • You want to become a student of the woman you are with- both when dating or in marriage.
  • This is to get to know them for who they are and not to manipulate them.
  • The joy of a relationship is getting to know a person for who they are as an individual
  • Discovering the unique aspects of their life and attitude
  • This is something that you can study and get to know
  • By studying, you get to know the real them and you learn about what is important for you to connect with them
  • The best way to do that is to be your authentic self
  • When you take your mask off, it gives her permission to take her mask off

Journey

  • This isn’t a contest to win, this is a lifetime gig. The joy of relationships is discovering the individuality of each other
  • This isn’t a game to beat, it is an open world to explore.
  • You go exploring into each other's lives
  • You open up about hopes and dreams, and you learn theirs.
  • It is ever-changing. As time passes, seasons change, you both mature, and you can face the celebrations and challenges of life together.
  • You’ll eventually become each other’s greatest companions on the journey of life

CHALLENGE:

If you are Dating: Ask yourself, “What am I in a relationship for?”

  • To win the girl, or get to know the girl?

If you are Married: Get more curious about your wife

  • Ask questions. Look up questions online if you need help going deeper
  • Take Notes.
  • Get intentional.
  • Initiate - asking yourself “How can I bless her or make her day?”
  • Free App to help = Love nudge
