Men all over the world will struggle with perfectionism. This drive to be perfect has hurt a lot of men and caused them to lose a lot of their life. Men have the drive to do things and to do things right, but they have to watch out or they will fall into perfectionism. Each man needs to adopt a realistic view of perfectionism by changing their attitudes.

Perfect Can Replace Purpose

  • Every man should have a purpose but perfectionism can hurt our purpose
  • Purpose through the lens of perfection
  • Purpose is a direction, not a utopian life
  • Perfection and image management
  • Perfection will drive us to focus on our image because we want others to think a certain way of us
  • Perfectionism damages relationships

Growth Beats Perfectionism

  • Perfectionism can only be overcome by a mental change in us as men
  • It starts with a mental change that embraces challenges and doesn't count them as negatives
  • Too often we are paralyzed by our own perfectionism and we don't try new things
  • We need to adopt a prototype mentality
  • This puts growth ahead of our need for perfectionism
  • Men with a growth attitude will always win over men who are stuck in perfectionism

Imperfections Help Build Teams

  • Perfectionism hurts us at work because we often try to be "the man"
  • We must have a team attitude instead of a perfection attitude
  • Recognize our Strengths
  • Recognize other People's Strengths
  • Recognize How Teams Fulfill Everyone
  • Imperfections can act like a connector
