What does it mean to be an authentic man? The problem with this question is that every man is different so there isn't one overriding image of what a real man is. We have to remember this as we go on our journey of becoming a man. Our goal is not to be someone else, our goal is to be the man we were designed to be. The best way to do that is to dig into our authentic selves.

The Mystery of Authenticity

  • There is a call for men to be authentic but for many men, that is a confusing thing to say
  • Authenticity is a mystery for many men because they have a misconception of what it is
  • Authenticity is not a place you go and live
  • Authenticity is a continual journey you choose to make

The Fake Side of Acting

  • The struggle with authenticity for many men is they become actors
  • They are acting instead of living authentically because they don't know anything else
  • Lifelong Actors
  • Situational Actors
  • Defensive Actors
  • Fake acting isn't good for men or for those they are in a relationship with
  • We have to be willing to check ourselves as men and make sure we aren't faking our way through life

The Authentic Side of Acting

  • There are times when our authenticity compels us to do some acting
  • The Happy You
  • The Future You
  • The Suck it Up You
  • When a man has a vision he wants to fulfill or wants to bring real change in his life it often involves some type of acting
